WIP Wednesday!

So here are the current WIPs -

Supernova! Cut and ready to go!

Well, I still have to cut the white fabric... I'll get to that soon... But I am LOVING the color pallet! Yea!

I finished my second Bottled Rainbow Block!! I went with Yellow this week!

It's very happy! Here it is with the Tangerine block!

I am very much enjoying this Ticker Tape method!!

I haven't done much else! I took a photography class this weekend and have been having a blast taking pictures and editing! It's way hard, but fun! Here is a picture of the little man that I took:

Before editing

After editing

That's right. I edited frosting off from his face!! Fun, yes? Photoshop rocks. Okay - back to sewing... :)

Diaper Covers

I finished two diaper covers! I like how they turned out, but I am still going to call these "prototypes". I have a few ideas to make these even better, so stay tuned for more of these cute little projects!

I am so excited to take my photography classes tomorrow and Saturday! The pictures on this blog are about to get much better! ;)

WIP Wednesday

Okay - here are my current WIPs!!

First, I did get the rest of my prints for the Supernova Quilt-a-long! I think this is going to turn out fabulous! I am thinking, though, that I will do 12 blocks instead of 9, to make it bigger. I am going to give it to my hubby to replace this super sad 15 year old "well loved" quilt that he won't let go of, so it needs to be really good sized. Here is the stack of prints:

Second, I have (finally) made some progress on the diaper covers!

I am taking a photography class this weekend, and the gal I am making these for will be there, so I want to get them done by Friday to give to her. So far, I am liking them. I had some inspiration last night too, so I have a few ideas for the rest. Muahaha! They will be cute! Still have to pick up some elastic, though!

Third, as I posted yesterday, I did my first block for the Bottled Rainbows Quilt-a-long. For my first attempt at ticker tape, I think it's good. It can only go up from here. But really, I want this quilt to have a childish feel, so this block is just what I was hoping for! Lots of fun!!

Last, any input on which layout I should use for my HST (half square triangles) baby quilt? I can't decide...

Wish me luck on all these projects!! :)

I get a little excited...

So, I tend to get excited...

I separated a lot of scraps, and I think I am okay on most colors. We'll see...

Then - I went ahead and finished my Tangerine block!!! Orange is my favorite, so I had to start there!! It's not perfect, but I really like it!

I tried to keep it scrappy, not linear or symmetrical. I really want this quilt to be wonky and fun! I also added a white around the edge. I love framing out my squares! I think it will be nice!

Bottled Rainbow fabrics!

I picked up the solids for the Bottled Rainbow Quilt-a-Long today! Don't they look pretty?

Now I just need to dig into my scrap pile and get things going! :) Fun!

Another Quilt a long

I found this quilt a long that is a nice paced, use up your scraps kinda project! I love it and am going to join in, even if I'm a little behind! Should be really fun!!

WIPs

So, I was trying to get a handle on my WIPs, and - as is popular - I am going to share what I'm working on with you!

First - The Supernova Quilt-a-Long!! I have some great fabric in my stash, but I do need a few more prints. But, I think I am going to stay in the Greys, blues, and greens. I think that will be nice. What do you think?

Second - my leftovers from the Happy Quilting Quilt-a-Long. I had a lot of little HSTs. I also had half of the fat quarter bundle left over and cut into squares, so I am going to make HSTs out of them and make a zig-zag quilt, like this! CUTE!!!!!

Third - I got this jelly roll a while ago and made it into my favorite jelly roll squares some time ago. Now I am making them into these fun squares!! This one keeps getting pushed back, but I will work on it little by little and hopefully get it done sometime soon! I love the prints and know this will turn into a favorite!

Last - I have a major quilt project going on, but it is a present and must be kept secret. Know that it is coming together - is all black and grey, and is killing me. I must get it done by May, and I am praying that I can!! Sorry to not show anything, but you'll see it soon enough!! :)

So those are my current quilts. My non-quilting WIPs are:

Diaper Covers, for the ever talented Valerie Hart Photography (She's offering an awesome spring mini session right now! Check it out!)
A flower purse for my sister
Appliqued onsies, for my cousin's new twins
A dress for the Princess's Build-a-bear.

Phew - I think that's probably enough for now, right?! lol!

Supernova Quilt a Long!!

Supernova Quilt-Along with Freshly Pieced

I have found a new Quilt-a-Long to join in! Freshly Pieced is doing an AWESOME pattern called Supernova.

It is awesome! I can't wait to get started!! I have put the button on my sidebar, so if you're interested, just head on over!! Yea for Quilt-a-longs!!

Luck O' the Irish!

We love St. Patrick's Day in our house! Why? It's the Princess's birthday!! :) So, I try to make something festive every year.

I made this table topper this morning!

Cute, right? I based it on the tutorial on Moda Bake Shop by Natalia Bonner of Piece N Quilt. I think it turned out cute!!

Quilt-a-Long, all finished up!

I finished the quilt a long quilt!! I am pleased with how it came out! It's a very cute quilt! And the best part: I was able to use fabric from my stash for the front AND the back! Yipee! I love that!

I did simple quilting, to keep the back flannel really soft! I love how it came out!
I really enjoyed doing this! I think I will find another one to do sometime, and maybe host one myself someday! :) This pattern is AWESOME and I am definitely doing it again! I have some ideas... ;)

Where have I been?

Well, I haven't been getting a whole lot of sewing in! :( But, I have been painting my house! It is SO much work. But I love the results! Fresh paint is wonderful!

Anyway - I have completed another step on the Quilt-a-Long! Here are the finished blocks:

I think this is going to be super cute!! Can't wait to sew it all together!!
