This has been another stupendous week!
First off - super secret project, miraculously, has hit a huge milestone! The hard part is finished!!!!! I wasn't actually sure if I would get that part done by next month, but now I am confident that it will be all the way finished by the deadline (which, is also super secret. Okay - next month....)
I started designing the Princess' Easter dress, and got the fabric. She told me that she wants a simple (she used the word "normal") dress instead of a frilly ball gown. I kind of died a little inside, but I will do as she wishes... *sniff*
Bottled Rainbows - I actually finished TWO squares this week!!
Green
And Plum. This one isn't my favorite, but it will look good enough...
Here are my 6 finished blocks so far!!
Supernova top is complete, and I have pieced the back as well!!
I am going with black minky with a blue minky stripe.
Apparently, I have a thing for stripes on the back of my quilts. ;)
Anyway, Supernova's back is really stunning, and I think it will be totally fabulous when it's all said and done. I couldn't believe how hard it was to find black minky, though. I had to go to three stores! Who knew?
Sadly, though - I have to spend a little time on a very unfun WIP -
I hate laundry.
Well, that's it for this week!! Happy WIP Wednesday!! Check out everyone's WIPs over at Freshly Pieced!!

your rainbow blocks are neat, I like them. I hate laundry too and cooking.
ReplyDeleteLOL Laundry is a WIP that never goes away!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy this week!
You have been crazy busy. I really like the rainbow blocks. I'm gonna have to try that. Now if you'll excuse me......I have laundry to do! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteWow, a minky back? I'm impressed, my experience with minky has definitely not been fun, I'm curious to see how it turns out for you! And I really do have laundry to do today, so I feel for you. I really despise doing laundry, too - but not as much as I despise washing dishes! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the minky back!
ReplyDeleteMy daughters love it when I use minky for quilt backs.
Can't wait to see how the princess dress turns out.
I'm trying to decide if I have enough time to make Easter dresses for my little girls this week!
wow, you don't just sew girls clothing, you design it!? that's awesome. And yes - so sad that she doesn't want a frilly dress. :(
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your minky back! That's fun. I've been struggling with what to back my supernova with.
ugh - i don't even want to think of the WIPs I've been avoiding around the house! good luck with your laundry.
love the rainbow blocks
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! Love the bottle rainbow blocks! I'm a "stripe on the back" kind of person myself. It seems to hide that inevitable seam!
ReplyDeleteAll those backs...beautiful and I love the Supernova, but hate laundry too. Maybe look at it as a blessing to have a family who needs to have it done? That's what I try to do.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the dress!
Your supernova back is great, now I am motivated to plan mine. Would thinking of your daughter's dress as classic and elegant help, instead of calling it normal? The fabric you have chosen is lovely!
ReplyDeleteLaundry...that seems to be a WIP that will never be finished. Your bottled rainbow looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteI can remember exactly when I told my mom the exact same thing about dresses, and yes she was a bit let down also! That was a long time ago though. Bottled Rainbows and SuperNova coming along nicely! Can't wait to see that secret project!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your Supernova all finished! The minky back looks so lush. Loving your bottled rainbows too! I need to get back to work on mine.
ReplyDeleteYeah for your progress on the super secret project! (And yeah for me that I've seen said project!) I love your bottled rainbow squares.
ReplyDeleteYAY for the secret project coming along nicely.I like the supernova, and stripes are good on backs.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what this secret project is!!
