(Of all the pictures I took of Supernova, this is my favorite. I don't know why...)
Funny story - when I gave it to my hubby, he said he needed to test it out. So, he took it to the couch, curled up, and 2.4 nanoseconds later was actually asleep. It was funny. I take that as a quilt success! ;)
Anyway, Supernova and Easter Dress/bag were my big finishes this week (Yipee!). I had fun with all three of those projects!!
Now, on to the WIPs!!
Bottled Rainbow continues to be the funnest of projects. I don't see how I could ever give this away to anyone. It's like a giant memory. Every scrap I put on, I think, "Oh, I remember making that!" It's awesomely fun! This week (um... about 5 minutes ago...) I finished the Pink Block!
It's really cute. The BIG square is from one of my very first "real" quilts - Hex. It makes me happy having that on here! Here are my 7 (!) finished blocks:
He needed to "test" the quilt out? Too funny! And instant sleep under a quilt is probably the best compliment a finished quilt can get, good for you! Your Bottled Rainbows blocks are looking great so far, too, I love that you're using scraps that mean a lot to you, that's going to make that quilt even more special to you over the years :)
ReplyDeleteYour hubby is funny but I guess that is how you test a quilt out. That is one thing I love about scrap quilts is remembering all the other ones that you have made too. Gives you a good feeling of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteI love what you wrote about the Bottled Rainbows being a giant memory! I feel the same way about mine! And your Supernova quilt is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteha! love that you have a quilt tester in your house. Glad it met his approval! Love that the bottled rainbow is a collection of memories. Makes me want to make my own. Can't wait to see your secret project!
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to have a working blanket, would be a problem if it was not, maybe he can test out all your quilts. The bottled rainbows are also lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove your Supernova Quilt. It looks great. The bottled rainbows quilt is coming along well too and I love that you include shapes other than just squares. I am hoping to make one of those quilts myself but have commited to finishing some current projects before purchasing more fabric so I haven't allowed myself to order the Kona Solids. Oh and I popped over from the link on WIP Wednesday. This is my first visit to your blog but I'm sure I will be back. You've got some great things going on over here.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! I've thoroughly enjoyed the Bottled rainbows too. And I'm with you--I could never give it away, even though I don't "need" another quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love that your husband took the quilt for a test-drive. That's a success for sure!
I agree, I'd say your Supernova is a success, for many reasons. Your Bottled Rainbow blocks are lovely! Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday. : )
ReplyDeleteYour husband sounds like mine! When I made my daughter's quilt she wouldn't even give me time to wash it, so it went right on the bed. I told her later how it gets all yummy after being through the washer and dryer so she couldn't wait for me to do it! Then she curled up in a warm from the dryer quilt. While it was 80 degrees outside. Yeah, well, my kids are snugglers. Great work this week!
ReplyDeleteThe bottled rainbow quilt will be fabulous, judging from the blocks you already made...
ReplyDeleteAgain, just LOVE that supernova!! Your bottled rainbows is looking fantastic, great WIPs!!
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow is looking great!!!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL Supernova quilt! My husband did the same thing with my hexie quilt. Silly boys! They're almost as bad as cats and quilts! :)
ReplyDeletelove the pink block super cute
ReplyDeleteI would count that a Supernova success! And I love your Bottled Rainbows blocks!
ReplyDeleteI love how you included a quilt block in your bottled rainbows! That is genius! It is amazing how sometimes one photo will just catch your eye, and that is the one you like!
