New Blog Header
So, what do you all think of the new header?
I'm not going to lie... I just love those shoes. I almost didn't buy them. I am glad I listened to the little shoe devil on my shoulder... :)
I made this with some new software that I won a few months ago and only just started experimenting with! It's scrapbooking software, and I don't scrapbook. At all. But it is a lovely program, and I think I am going to have a lot of fun with it!! Glad I tried it out! :)

WIP Wednesday!!
This post is going to seem short, but trust me - a lOt of work has been going on!! :)
E's King Size is my only current WIP (until tomorrow!)
Let the Heavenly Choirs sing - I have finished the 16 patches!!! 42 in all! (Did you do some quick math? That would be 672 HSTs...) YEA!!! Now I just have to stitch those together and the top is complete!!!! Yipee!!
Now, something also very exciting! I got a call yesterday that made me want to jump up and dance! I was asked to join in on a very exciting project! A group of awesomeness - a photographer, a make-up artist, a wedding designer and ME are going to start putting together some cool wedding ideas! And I get to make the DRESSES!!!! AUGH!!! *Dream come true* I don't have much more information than that, but I'll keep you posted as things develop! I am so excited!!
One more fun thing - we got family pictures taken by the ever talented Valerie Hart Photography (check them out!!!) and I am happy to say, within the next few days, I'll have a new blog header. Don't worry, though - it still involves high heels! :)
Anywho - that is all for today! Be sure to check out all of the wonderful WIPs at Freshly Pieced!

Tip: Pretty HST Points
So, I have been doing a tOn of Half Square Triangles lately, and I have found a method of making my points pretty. I honestly don't remember if I found this tip somewhere, or if I just discovered it on my own, but regardless - I feel that it is worth sharing!! So, here's a tute for making those pesky points a little bit prettier!
Start with trimmed and squared HSTs. If you don't know how to trim and square your HSTs up, check THIS out. She has a few methods of making HSTs to try. Really, learning to do that part correctly changed my life. :)
So, you have two HSTs all squared and pretty. Now, you want to line up seams (right sides together) and match corners.
Sew 1/4 inch seam.
Press seams OPEN. (I know that not everyone is on the press-seams-open bandwagon, but for this method, it is a must!)
Do this with how ever many HST you have to sew together. For this demo, one more set is sufficient.
Now look at that pretty little point...
Now, flip it over. Look carefully. Do you see the triangle in the seam?
Right there!
This is the fabric practically telling you where to put your needle. Seriously. It is literally pointing to where you should sew!
Match up the middle seams of your two HST sets. (To me, it is more important to match seams rather than edges...)
Sew 1/4 inch seam, right under the little triangle in the seam.
Press seams open, and voila!
Lovely. Now, if you are me - do this over and over and over a few hundred times...
Happy HSTing!!

WIP Wednesday!
Okay. OKAY!!! I'm sorry I missed last week. I received a shocking amount of flack for it, but I really didn't have anything to show!! :) Turns out, switching banks is a soul crushing amount of work. My sewing time dwindled... :(
But I do have something to show this week!! Here's what I've been up to...
E's King Size
I am now almost half way through my 16 patches, and have come into a really good rhythm here. I think I can get this top all the way put together this week!!!
Skill Builders Sampler
I am so excited that Leila is feeling better and we've picked back up! This week is Wonky Stars, and I have mine cut out and ready to sew together!!
Beejeebers
I got this block sent off for March!!
I am still waiting on 2 of my game night blocks, and let me tell you... this quilt is going to be stupendous!!! STAY TUNED!!!
Sewing Lessons
Okay, this has been going on for months now, but let me introduce my sewing student - M.
She is currently making a skirt. She is doing very well and is turning into a real seamstress! I also got her signed up for a 5K... Muahahaha! I just love her...
Well, that's all for now! Happy WIP Wednesday! Be sure to check out all of the WIPs over at Freshly Pieced!

Ringmaster
So, after completing the Circus Flower girl dress, I set out to make a little Ringmaster jacket for the flower girl's little brother. I was sure that such a thing would be a breeze.
I was forced, once again, to eat my words. Jackets are not that easy. Especially when you've never done one before. Aaaaaand you decide to make up the pattern as you go. (In my defence here, I couldn't find a pattern in the right size...)
Anyway... I think I redid every single piece on this coat at least once. I came into a lot of snags and had to fix them in... creative ways. It didn't come out as well as I had hoped. If I had had more time, I think I would have been able to do it much better... (So next time, I won't procrastinate so long!! lol!)
Anyway, I was also only able to snap a few quick, poorly lit pictures before I got it to them. You know, the day before they were leaving for the wedding. *sheepish grin**
So, all my self deprecating comments to the side, here it is - a mini ringmaster jacket...
I will be buying a jacket pattern and making one for my boy. Just so I can make one with instructions and learn how this was suppose to be done! lol! But, for all the set-backs, I am pleased with it. When they get pictures of the kids in these outfits, I'll post them, or a link! I can't wait to see them myself! :)

Flower Girl - Circus Style!
Today I finished the Vintage Circus Flower Girl Dress!!! This was quite a project. I took the ideas from her Mom and the Bride and did my best to translate it into what they wanted. I made the pattern for this one! I am pretty proud of my self with this.
So, presenting, the Flower Girl Dress:
I am excited for how it came together! I KNOW Little Miss H is going to look adorable in it!
The main feature, naturally, are the feathers!
These were a riot to work with. They got sworn at more then once. But I am really excited with how fun and poofy they are!!
So, there you have it! A one of a kind flower girl dress for a totally fun wedding! :)
