Wow. The holiday really threw me off. I can't believe it's time for WiP Wednesday!!!
So, I spent a lot of last week cleaning and organizing my sewing room. Holy Crow. I am glad that I did it, but wow. I did not realize how much I have... Don't tell my husband, but I probably shouldn't be allowed to buy fabric for a long while... ;) lol!
Anyway, here are a few of the thing I worked on...
Bottled Rainbows!
Here's the block of the week - Cerise. I am going to just call it "That pretty purpley color" I love it. I had fun with this one! Love that little leftover Butterfly block! And now, only three left to go! I think from here on I am not going to show the whole group; just that week's block until it's done! Muahaha!
Mod Times - quilted! Binding on! Ready to get that binding done! I'll post pictures as soon as it's finished!! :)
New project! I found a fat quarter bundle that I LOVE and decided that I wanted to do another hexagon quilt. I'll use the same piecing process as the original Hex, but modify it a little. It'll be fun!
While I was cleaning, I found this picnic quilt top that I finished many months ago...
aaaaaand forgot about!! How on Earth does one forget an entire quilt top?!? I am now considering what to back it with and how to quilt it! It's a fun quilt! :)
For my almost-due new nephew - a onsie. He's the 7th child! I though this was funny...
Last - I am still having problems with commenting. I cannot comment on blogs that have comments embedded at the bottom of the post (unless you allow for anonymous or name/URL). So, if I used to comment, but suddenly stopped - I WANT to!! Maybe you could change to the pop-up comment screen, you know - just for me? ;) No, but - know that I'm reading and totally being inspired by your projects!
Check out all of the awesome WiPs, this week at Don't Call Me Betsy! Happy sewing! :)
Oh, and yeah - I'm all for this one... :)
My sewing room needs some cleaning too! ;) I can't wait to see your hexagon quilt...and that pieced quilt top is awesome! (Now hopefully you will be able to see this comment!)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn't realize there was problems with embedded posting. My comment box disappeared for a few days. Wonder what's up with blogger.
ReplyDeleteLove the cerise block - especially that little mod center. And don't feel bad, I felt the same way when I organized. It's amazing how fast we accumulate! Love the '7' onesie - that's really funny!
Aha, so the embedded comments are the problem!! Perhaps I'll switch over to pop-ups for now, thanks for letting me know that!! In other news, I love your newfound old WIP, lovely quilt top! I can't wait to see your Mod Times quilt all finished up, too :) Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI love that you forgot about that quilt top. So funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same commenting problem. Blogger is my nemesis!
Love your hexie fabrics. And that's funny that you found a whole quilt top! I will check my comments. I have no idea what kind mine is. I had noticed a few other places that still seemed to be having trouble.
ReplyDeletelol!!! When I was on the Great Hunt in January, I found a SANDWICHED quilt from at least 15 years ago that I had absolutely no memory of making, but I know I did because of some signature characteristics. I need to unsandwich it and baste it before quilting. I'd used those plastic T ties that punch through, and they just allow way too much movement.
ReplyDeleteOh I do love the "7" onsie, way too cute. Congrats to them on 7 babies, nothing like a new baby for sure. I love that hexagon quilt you made, this one will be nice, I like your fabrics. And like if my hubby could see all my fabric at once he wouldn't let me near a quilt shop for a couple of years, but then he is the one that says, if you don't get it now you won't get it later.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are so awesome this week! I'm still adoring anything bottled rainbows... and yes that butterfly.. too cute! And your rediscovered picnic top... so cheery! The 7 onesie made me laugh too!
ReplyDeleteAnd I too am still struggling with commenting. I didn't realize it was a pop up vs. bottom of the page thing. Strange. Hope they resolve it soon!!
I love those fabrics for your hexagon quilt. That is going to be a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteLove that picnic quilt! Such bright, fun colors!
ReplyDeletei love the purple square and the 7 onsie is adorabile
ReplyDeleteyour quilt top is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy craft room has turned in to a huge mess and we've only lived in this house 3 months! It took me over a month of that time to even unpack things.
That is officially my absolute favorite bottled rainbows block in blogland. That came out amazing!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see the bottled rainbow when it is done. Each block is so delightful.
ReplyDeleteThe hexagon one looks awesome, too! I would like to do another one of those sometime to keep.
