This has been a SUPER-FANTASTIC week!!!!! Seriously!
First off, E's King Size
Wow. I think this has been in progress for about 6 months now. I don't think I've ever taken that long on a quilt... but you know what - that's okay!! Because this may just be some of my best work!
So - the king size has been quilted! ON A LONG ARM!!! BY ME!!!! Yes, this past Saturday I learned how to use a long arm quilting machine! But I'll be posting more on that tomorrow! :)
As it stands now, the quilt has been quilted and the binding sewn on, so all that is left is hand stitching the binding down, and then this will be done!! WOW!! I am super excited!!
Wedding Dress Projects
I am currently working on the Cowboy/Western themed Wedding Skirt. Right now, only one word can describe it...
Ruffles!!!!!
It is coming together nicely so far. I would like to have this skirt finished by this weekend, so wish me luck!! Ruffles are fun, but time consuming (also - THREAD consuming! lol!).
That is actually all for now! Tune in tomorrow for a post about my Long-Arm quilting experience!
Be sure to check out all of the WIPs over at Freshly Pieced!

I can't wait to hear about the long arm. Your quilt is gorgeous! Can't wait to see a full shot...I'm so jealous of the quilting! I think I'd have to go ahead and buy a ruffler for my machine for that many ruffles!
OOOO, can't wait to hear about your long arm experience. I've thought about renting time on one. Very cool!
I would love to learn how to use a long-arm. Looks like you did a beautiful job. And wow--ruffles! That looks like a beautiful skirt.
The little sneaky peek of your long-arming looks fantastic! Good luck sewing on that binding...I imagine that will take a long time on a king-size quilt!
It was so much fun, looking forward to tomorrow's reveal. And the skirt id looking fantastic!!!
I am wishing you luck!!!
(no need to reply - I know you are busy!)
Hugs!
do you have a ruffler for your sewing machine? If not- with that many ruffles it would be well worth the investment- they are awesome. I love your longarm quilting too- very jealous, I have been longing to try a longarm... :)
Ooohhh. Long arm! I'm scared of the longarm machines.
Love the ruffles, btw.
I would love the chance to even see how a long arm works :)
I read through and caught up on your blog. You've been really busy: finished the king-sized quilt, deep into ruffles/wedding dress, made a quilt for your sister-in-law, as well as took a vacation in San Diego. Wow! I dropped off for a while, too, and am now reading my favorite bloggers (yes, you are one). We'll be in your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks. We're headed to Zion Nat'l Park the week before Memorial Day for a family reunion. I'm looking forward to it!
The story about your SIL was very sweet and I'm so glad she found her sweetheart. And yes--I would have done the same thing--make a quilt!
Anyway, good for you, and good luck on the dress!

1. Love your header, those shoes are awesome!
2. I would love to learn on a long arm machine. Good for you!
3. Ruffles are incredibly time- (and thread-) consuming! :)
Great job on the long-arming! Isn't it fun (and quick!!)? Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday. : )
